The Rundown with Bryan Person

This week social media evangelist, blogger and podcaster Bryan Person joins me for The Rundown on BlogTalkRadio. As always, The Rundown is my weekly LIVE podcast featuring an analysis or summary of something by a knowledgeable person – and me.

Bryan Person is a blogger at Bryper.com where he shares his thoughts, observations, and opinions about the fascinating new-media and social-media space. He is also the producer of the New Comm Road podcast, a weekly audio show explaining new media and how to integrate it into your company’s communications work. Bryan has helped organize and presented at Podcamp Boston (1 and 2) and is the originator of the Social Media Breakfast.

In this age of online community, Bryan has started to focus his attention on using new media to bring people together face to face. And while that’s great and fun for people who live in swinging social media hot spots like Boston, for the rest of us, we have to continue to enjoy our online relationships. [sigh] No, seriously, I’m happy for Bryan. I think it’s great that he – no I don’t. And I’ll be sure to tell him that on Tuesday. Join me for a live verbal lashing.

The Rundown airs on Tuesdays at 1:30pm Eastern. Because it’s live, your calls are welcome. Whenever I have I guest you’d like to talk to, question or heckle, just call in at (646) 716-8329. You can also email your text or audio comments to me before the show and I’ll fit them in. The archives will be available at my BlogTalkRadio host page or by subscribing to the show’s RSS feed. You can also subscribe to the show on iTunes.

The Rundown with Erin Caldwell

This week I welcome my good friend Erin Caldwell, account executive with Edelman Public Relations’ Online Advocacy group in the Washington, DC office and the founder and managing editor of Forward, an online learning community for students and young professionals in public relations (of which I am contributor and podcast co-producer). So, fire up your favorite southern drawl and join us for this live internet broadcast.

As always, The Rundown is my weekly LIVE podcast featuring an analysis or summary of something by a knowledgeable person – and me.

During her time at Edelman, Erin has worked on a variety of accounts. Erin worked with New Communications, LLC, and the Society of New Communications Research, both based in Palo Alto, CA, and helped produce the New Communications Forum in March of 2006. Through this, she acquired experience in dealing with new media, specifically tracking and analyzing online conversations. We’re going to talk about those very online conversations, blogger relations and, of course, Forward.

The Rundown with Media Relations and The Bad Pitch Bloggers

Kevin “The Doog” Dugan and Richard Laermer hop on to give me down low of media relations and the Bad Pitch Blog on The Rundown. As always, The Rundown is my weekly LIVE podcast featuring an analysis or summary of something by a knowledgeable person – and me – hosted on BlogTalkRadio.

We’ll be discussing media relations in both tradition and new mediums, the bad pitches that arise, the breaking point for journalists and the good PR pros left holding the broken pieces of our industry.

And we’ll be doing it without so much hyperbole, I hope. I’ve painstakingly researched my guests by clipping bios from other sites. They are:

Kevin Dugan, director of marketing communications for FRCH Design Worldwide. Prior to this, he spent eight years with HSR Business to Business—a full-service marketing communications agency. The last 15 years have found Kevin Dugan managing public relations efforts everywhere from the factory floor to the boardroom for some of the biggest business to business brands. Hooked on the internet since 1995 (wth?), Dugan created Strategic Public Relations in July of 2002 and Fast Company magazine selected him to post at their blog, FC Now in 2004 and 2005. An accredited professional through PRSA, Kevin’s work helped earn Silver and Bronze Anvil awards from PRSA and an award from PR Week.

Richard Laermer, an expert in marketing and media – so he says – and a former magazine and newspaper journalist. Author of Full Frontal PR, trendSpotting, and four other nonfiction collectibles. He’s CEO, RLM pr, an agency that practices gospel of Punk, has consulted for Fujifilm, Barnes & Noble, Consumer Reports, Time Inc., Discovery Health Channel, plus lots of grateful people, co-hosted critically-acclaimed, ratings-challenged TLC program Taking Care of Business. Hobbies include: rewriting his bio and judging a book by its covers.

The Rundown airs on Tuesdays at 1:30pm Eastern. Because it’s live, your calls are welcome. Call in live at (646) 716-8329 or send me your text or audio comments before the show and I’ll play them. The archives will be available at my BlogTalkRadio host page or by subscribing to the show’s RSS feed or at iTunes.

People in the PR blogosphere know her as the Measurement Guru where she blogs at KDPaine’s PR Measurement Blog and The Measurement Standard Blog, a blog for comments and questions about articles in The Measurement Standard, the international newsletter of public relations measurement and research published by KDPaine & Partners. A former journalist, Katie entered Silicon Valley when it was just know as “a valley.” After 7 years on the corporate side, she launched The Delahaye Group.

therundown.jpgWe’ll be chatting about communication on the web and how’s it’s affecting politics. We will NOT be talking about politics, so leave your crazy opinions and political leanings at home. If I ask you howz it hangin’ you say “straight down the middle.” Got it?

The Rundown with Todd Defren

This week I welcome Todd Defren, principal at SHIFT Communications, prolific blogger at PR Squared and tweeter on Twitter to a special Halloween episode of The Rundown. Mwa ha ha ha ha! Dress in your favorite costume and join us for this live internet broadcast.

As always, The Rundown is my weekly LIVE podcast featuring an analysis or summary of something by a knowledgeable person – and me.

As principal, Defren leads client services and business development efforts for SHIFT. More importantly he and his team have been instrumental in bringing the Social Media Release to life. I have some questions of my own about that, about what prompted him to get involved in the whole movement and what it means to public relations and journalism. I also plan on asking him what it’s like to bop from Boston to San Fransisco like a tennis ball. Don’t miss this exciting Halloween edition.

The Rundown airs on Tuesdays at 1:30pm Eastern. Because it’s live, your calls are welcome. Whenever I have I guest you’d like to talk to, question or heckle, just call in at (646) 716-8329. Nettie Hartsock helps individuals, authors, and companies focus on creating, conveying and connecting their message to the world and creates actionable how-to-programs which establish a powerful base for attracting both blogger and journalists attention.

therundown.jpgWe’ll be discussing business and what it’s like to be an online book publicist including what that has to do with podcasting. Or does it at all? Call in, we’ll discuss whatever YOU want to talk about. Plus Nettie has this darling southern drawl that you won’t want to miss. Join me to get the rundown on Nettie Hartsock.

New Live PR Podcast – The Rundown with Luke Armour

Yes. It’s true. To answer a question Mitch Joel posed to me at Podcamp Toronto in February: Tuesday, Mitch, this Tuesday.

therundown.jpgI’ve started a show on the BlogTalkRadio network entitled that focuses on public relations, the web, promotions, publicity, internal communication, media relations, investor relations, online marketing, writing, public affairs, social media, issue management, blogging, crisis communication and any other form of public relations. The live-show-turned-podcast is entitled “The Rundown with…”

Since I’m not entertaining nor smart enough to hold your attention by myself, I’ve decided to do an interview-style show and get some smart folks to spend 30 minutes with me LIVE. Then I’ll do zany things with them for my own amusement. I think I can make that last until future guests listen to archived shows and start rethinking their commitment to talk to me. Anyway, the interview style definitely takes the most advantage of BlogTalkRadio’s live talk-show format.

The Rundown will air Tuesdays at 1:30pm Eastern. Because it’s live, your calls are welcome. Whenever I have I guest you’d like to talk to or question, just call in at (646) 716-8329. You can also email your text or audio comments to me before the show and I’ll play them. The archives will be available at my BlogTalkRadio host page or by subscribing to the show’s RSS feed.

So far I’ve got some great guests lined up and it should be fun. My inaugural show airs this Tuesday 10/16 and features Sarah Wurrey (the fool!) from Custom Scoop, its blog and the irreplaceable PR Blog Jots. Join me to get the rundown on Sarah Wurrey!

Disclosure: I work for BlogTalkRadio, but the show is still my puppy.
